What is RA Control ?
Three Modes, One Control System
RA Control is Rocksolid Audio's plugin control environment for Rocksolid Audio hardware and third-party MIDI devices, empowering you with direct, hands-on control of your plugins. It features three integrated control modes: Host Mode, Mouse Mode, and Midi Mode that can be used individually or together. RA Control can switch modes automatically depending on your requirements and offers functionalities such as Point-and-Click Mapping, Intelligent Host Switching, and Pre-Downloadable Maps.
Host Mode
Host Mode Is essentially a smart plugin wrapper, allowing you to insert any plugin you want to control with your Rocksolid Audio hardware or even a third-party MIDI device. Once you load a plugin into Host Mode, you can easily create your own map or, if available, simply download one of the 540+ pre-made maps already created. Either way, once set up, you can control any plugin inside Host Mode.

Quick Mapping
To map an element to your controller, simply select and move the element you want to control. Then, move the corresponding element on your hardware device.

Downloadable Maps
Host Mode offers access to over 400 readily available downloadable maps.

Virtual Screen
The virtual screen dynamically displays all inserted plugins and follows channel changes in real time. It shows your parameter adjustments instantly, allowing you to monitor and control your mix without opening each plugin individually.

Intelligent Host Switching
Intelligent Host Switching automatically selects the optimal plugin for each channel based on your previous plugin selection or designated favourite plugins.

Host Mode includes the Host Mode Editor, allowing you to adjust all your control settings from a single, centralized interface.

Mouse Mode
Think of Mouse Mode as a bridge between your hardware controller and any on-screen element. It's incredibly straightforward. Once you map a hardware control to a parameter in your plugin, Mouse Mode instantly moves your mouse pointer to that parameter and adjusts it.

Dynamic Tracking and Focus
Mouse Mode tracks on-screen elements effortlessly, automatically detecting which plugin is in focus and switching presets as needed.

Mouse Mode includes the Mouse Mode Editor, allowing you to adjust all your control settings from a single, centralized interface.

Multiple Functions
Once your elements are mapped, you can assign specific mouse actions to each one. Choose from single click, double click, default click, scroll, or click-and-drag—there's an option for every scenario.

Fine and Default Keystrokes
Turn your encoder below a set velocity to automatically engage the Fine-Adjust keystroke, or configure a switch to automatically reset that parameter value with the Default Value keystroke.
Midi Mode
Think of Midi Mode as a MIDI universal translator. Instead of relying on special wrappers or mouse-based movement, Midi Mode simply sends generic MIDI CC message, meaning you can control just about any MIDI-compatible parameter in your DAW.

Choice of Midi Output
You can select from Relative 1, Relative 2, Relative 3, or Absolute CC message output for encoders, and choose between Toggle or Absolute CC message output for switches.

Choose your MIDI channel, tailor the MIDI values for each component, or simply opt for the default configurations.

Midi Mode includes the Midi Mode Editor, allowing you to adjust all your control settings from a single, centralized interface.

Speed and Response Curves
Fine-tune the response curves and operating speeds of your hardware encoders.
3rd Party Device Mode
Third Party Device Mode lets you take advantage of all three powerful RA Control modes: Mouse Mode, Host Mode, and MIDI Mode using any 3rd party MIDI device. Instead of needing dedicated Rocksolid Audio hardware, you can map your existing controller’s knobs, buttons, and faders to RA Control’s advanced feature set. If your device can send MIDI CC, Note On/Off, or Pressure messages, you can configure it here.

Reaper

Format: Host Mode is available as an AU and VST3 plugin and can be used with any version of FL Studio. Please note that within Host Mode, only VST3 plugins are supported for loading.
Sync: Hosts will become automatically active when selecting them from the channels inserts section.
Intelligent Host Switching: Complete functionality. Hosts can be automatically selected when changing channels including Default, Favourites and Last Selected.
Virtual Screen: Complete functionality. All inserts from the selected channel are displayed, including third-party inserts. Hosts can be selected directly from the Virtual Screen.
Mouse Mode
Full support on FL Studio 2024 and Higher. Mouse Mode works on any static window element.
Midi Mode
FL Studio supports Midi Mapping of Plugin Instruments, Plugin Effects and many elements with the DAW itself. Please read your specific DAWs Midi capabilities.

Host Mode
Format: Host Mode is available in AU, VST3 and AAX Format. If your Audio or Video Production application can utilise these plugin formats then Host Mode will be functional for it.
